New product - inward-opening wooden window

The inward-opening wooden window offered by Viking Window, also known as the German window, is an inward-opening, tilt and/or turn type window with a single frame. As a window, it has a practical structural design as the window can be opened in two ways: it opens traditionally onto the side or tilts at the top for ventilation.

Advantages of the inward-opening Viking Window products:
·         Practical tilt and/or turn functions combined in a single window
·         Very good thermal resistance properties – the window has a U-value of 0.95 W/m² (triple glazed)
·         FSC-certified timber
·         Easy cleaning

The inward-opening wooden windows by Viking Window are made using high-quality solid wood. We use premium Nordic laminated pinewood and vacuum impregnation to guarantee the long service life of the wooden parts.
The windows have double-glazed units or triple-glazed units for greater energy efficiency. The insulating glass units can consist of various types of panes, depending on the user’s requirements – reinforced/safety glass, energy-saving or acoustic glass, glass with sun protection properties.
For window bars, we use tenon-jointed window bars (54 mm or 83mm) glued to the window surface; window bars glued into a glass unit with spacer bars, or removable window bars.
If multiple frames are combined into the same jamb, it is possible to have a window without a post between the panels/frames. In that case, the passive frame will only open to the side and the active frame will open both to the side as well as tilt from the top.

Side-hung casement windows (open to the side) have a handle in the middle, based on the frame length. Tilt windows have a handle on the top frame bar.

Tilt and turn window
The window opens inwards, in two different ways – the window opens fully inwards, hinged at the side, or tilts a little inwards from the top, into a ventilation position of 100 to 200 mm, depending on the window height, plus ‘micro ventilation’. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg.

Casement window
This is the traditional inward-opening side-hung casement window; it can also be used as an emergency exit, if necessary. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg.

Tilt window
The window tilts inwards from the top, but only a little, to allow ventilation. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg.

Non-opening window
This is the most inexpensive window that lets in light. The glass unit is fitted right into the jamb and the window cannot be opened.
